About

The James Makin Galley specialises in quality contemporary Australian Art. The gallery houses paintings, sculpture and works on paper by our small represented stable of prominent senior and emerging artists. Closely tied with parent company Port Jackson Press Australia, the James Makin Gallery developed out of a desire to incorporate other mediums of artistic expression into its repertoire, along with limited edition fine art prints that Port Jackson Press Australia publish and distribute.

The James Makin Gallery continues the high standard of quality contemporary Australian art established by Port Jackson Press. Founded in 1975, the past thirty years have seen PJPA publish significant editions by some of Australia’s most highly regarded artists. The company also consistently supports emerging printmakers, collaborating successfully with those exploring contemporary printmaking. The Port Jackson Press Print Room located in Fitzroy specialises solely in limited edition prints.
